Wow, so recently I watched an anime that's hella underrated, at least outside of Japan. This is a 2015 anime called "Seiyuu's Life!" (それが声優!). It's about voice acting in Japan, where voice actors are referred to with the word "seiyuu" (声優). This isn't the first anime I've seen that's about seiyuu stuff, that was Girlish Number. I only discovered this show because someone mentioned it in a discussion thread for a currently-airing seiyuu anime called Voice Actor Radio.
Seiyuu's Life is basically a show that follows the lives and careers of three junior seiyuus, and also explains a ton of insider industry stuff. It's surprisingly well-written for what appears like a moeshit slice-of-life show. Every one of the main trio has their own unique issues with their lives, and even the most successful of them has suffering from success problems jealous people may not notice. And it's super neat to learn stuff like how seiyuus move around a lot during anime voice acting, so they need to wear clothes that don't make noise when moving.
If you're someone who loves workplace anime or anime about the anime industry (e.g. Shirobako or New Game), this might be a really fun show for you to watch. What's kind of cool about Seiyuu's Life is that its source material was written by a successful seiyuu who collaborated with an artist to sell this series as a doujin. Another cool thing is that every episode features a guest appearance from a different veteran seiyuu acting as themselves and offering advice or consolation to the rookies. Also, the seiyuus voicing the main characters were themselves rookie seiyuus who formed a unit IRL just like they did in the show. This show is definitely a feast for seiyuu nerds!
The intro is pretty fun, I never skipped it. And there wasn't a single fixed outro interestingly. For every episode that had an outro, it was slightly different with the main trio singing a section of it differently... and also singing a famous anime song for each show. Literally the first outro had them singing Cruel Angel's Thesis. If you know how to sail the seas, you can find fansubs with karaoke lyrics, though it appears like the subbers gave up on adding karaoke lyrics to new songs added after about episode 3.
Yeah, that's pretty much all I have to say. Please go watch Seiyuu's Life!
